Get Relief From The Heat

Cool off at the City's cooling centers. Cooling centers are activated when temperatures reach and exceed 100 degrees. 
When the temperature is predicted to be 100 degrees or more, the City of Fontana activates its cooling centers. Hours are from 12:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. (times may vary depending upon temperature) at the following locations:

  • Fontana Community Senior Center (16710 Ceres Ave.)
  • Jesse Turner Health and Fitness Center (15556 Summit Ave.)
  • Heritage Neighborhood Center (7350 W. Liberty Pkwy)
  • Cypress Neighborhood Center (8380 Cypress Ave.)
  • Don Day Neighborhood Center (14501 Live Oak Ave.)

Beat the Heat

Summer months bring fun, sun, and heat. However, it is crucial to stay safe in high heat, especially for children, pets, those who work outside, and those with certain health conditions. Stay cool and beat the heat by following these tips:

  • Cool off at the City's cooling centers. Cooling centers are activated when temperatures reach and exceed 100 degrees
  • Limit outdoor activities
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Wear light clothing
  • Wear sunscreen
  • Work outdoors early or very late in the day
